More than two thirds of the Academy Awards Best Picture winners were inspired by literature, whether it be a novel, biography, play, or short story. In fact, prior to Sunday's 88th, 62 Best Picture winners came from literature, and that's not including the nominees. Add to it this year's literature based winners: The Revenant, Room, The Danish Girl, and the Big Short and the total now sits at 68.
