69th Academy Awards
The 69th Annual Academy Awards ceremony was held on March 24, 1997 at the Shrine Auditorium. Best Picture nominations included The English Patient (winner), Fargo, Jerry Maguire, Secrets & Lies, and Shine. The Best Actor Oscar went to Geoffrey Rush in Shine and the Best Actress Oscar went to Frances McDormand in Fargo.
