The 2017 Nominations are Out!

The nominations are out and Oscar voters honored “La La Land” with 14 nominations, a tie with “Titanic” and “All About Eve” for the most in Academy Award history. Nine movies will compete for Best Picture. More than two thirds of the Academy Awards Best Picture winners were inspired by literature, whether it be a novel, biography, play, or short story. In fact, prior to Sunday's 88th, 62 Best Picture winners came from literature, and that's not including the nominees. Add to it this year's literature based winners: The Revenant, Room, The Danish Girl, and the Big Short and the total now sits at 68.
